The HARA Ham swap, the U.P.'s largest swap was held in Negaunee on Feb 9th. The hams meet at 9 A.M. in the gym. UPARRA (Upper Peninsula Amateur Repeater Association) held a meeting to conduct its business and elect new officers. It is with deep regret that we must fill the vacancy of our president, Della Carver, WD8EIB who passed away from complications associated with cancer. We extend our sympathies to Norm, N8GAU.

Present at the meeting were:
N8OYR, WD8RTH, KC8BAN, K8NB, WB8Q, WA8FXQ, W8JUP, N8WAV

Elected to fill positions included:
Rich Thompson, N8OYR - President
John Andersen, WD8RTH - Vice President
Greg Revord, KC8BAN - Sec/Treasurer

Noel Beardsley, K8NB was re-appointed to fill the vacancy as Frequency Coordinator.

Discussed setting up a Web Site that the Coordinating Group may have a higher profile and more access to the Upper Michigan Hams, Bill, WB8Q offered to establish a site with a mailing list for UPARRA members. It was approved to allow Bill to do this.

KC8BAN gave a Financial Report, it was approved

Next meeting Date, U.P. Hamfest

The next meeting of the UPARRA will be during the 2002 U.P. Hamfest.

WHAT AND WHO IS THE UPARRA?

The Independent Repeater Association, is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan Amatuer Radio Repeater Coordinating body which is officially recognized by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and the FCC to coordinate Repeater frequency pairs in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.. The UPARRA is not a club, but is made up of Clubs or Trustees which support the coordinating body through membership dues. They meet at least twice each year, and more often as necessary to transact the business at hand.
